Hi guys,

I'm wondering what a certain service-specific error code means on Windows XP SP3. I'm unable to connect to the network printer at home, and it's on another computer. I typed the UNC path to the computer in the "Run" dialog, but got an error saying that no network provider accepted the given path. Next, I went into the Services applet (services.msc), and saw that the "Computer Browser" service was stopped. I attempted to start it, and got an error that a dependency (the Workstation service) had failed to start. So I then went to try and start the Workstation service, and got this error:
Windows could not start the Workstation on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If
this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 2250.
I checked the system log via Event Viewer, and saw nothing out of the ordinary. The final thing I tried was using System File Checker (sfc /scannow), and that didn't resolve the problem. Any advice?

Tyler

Try here. realize you already tried SFC, but try steps 3 and 4.

But screen readers don't work in Safe Mode.
